Result: 1-0 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina played in their first full reserve game today, with 8 brand new players having signed with Ukraina. The game was a good battle, with Ukraina getting to know each other on the field, but as true Ukrainian spirit proves we came out on top, with captain Dmitriy Synak scoring early in the second half to give Ukraina the victory. Mike Bodnar played well in goal, and posted the shutout.

Paul Cheliak
Paul was a monster on defence, showing no fear and stopping all opposition attacks.

Result: 3-0 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina played their second match of the season, missing co captain Dmitriy Snyak and keeper Mike Bodnar, but Ukraina showed why they are a solid team winning a great match despite missing some key players. Andriy Azarov got things going with a 35 yard free kick to make it 1-0 Ukraina. Arsen Gritsenko added Ukraina's second goal off a great pass from Jeff Cheliak. Konstantin Privalov volleyed home Ukraina's 3rd goal in the first half. The rest of the game we were under no real threat, and when we were on occasion, Walter Usyk stood tall in the Ukraina goal making some great saves.

Walter stepped up and played in goal, recorded his first career shutout, made some great saves.

Result: 2-2 Tie
Game Summary: Ukraina faced their first big test today missing a few key players, and playing against one of the top teams in the league. Ukraina went down early on a long free kick goal. Ukraina did have a lot of the play, but missed a few opportunities. Haltime 1-0. Ukraina came out hard in the second half, and a great deflected goal off Arsen Gritsenko's chest tied things up at 1-1. The opposition came back again scoring on another long free kick, but Arsen stepped up again with a good turn and finish to tie things up 2-2. The game ended with no real chances after this. Andriy Popowych was playing in goal to cover for the injured Bodnar, Podgorski and Uysk.

Dmtriy worked hard all game, competed for everything, was a great leader.

Result: 2-1 Loss
Game Summary: - Ukraina played a strong military team today, and although came out on the wrong end of the score, they outchanced them by quite a bit, and played a good strong game and were unlucky not to win. Ukraina were at half time 0-0, but gave up 2 goals early in the second half. Arsen Gritsenko got one back for Ukraina, but the bounces just didn't go our way today. Mike Bodnar played a great game in goal.

Andriy worked so hard on the field, pressured well, made some great passes.

Result: 4-2 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina played very well today, against a put together team of very decent players. Ukraina went up 1-0 on a great pass from Jeff Cheliak to Arsen Gritsenko who finished well. Dmitriy Synak was next to score for Ukraina, from a great pass from Konstantin Privalov. The Opposition tied things up at 2, but in the second half Ukraina picked it up and Andriy Azarov scored a great header from a corner kick to give Ukraina the lead. Things were tense towards the end, with Mike Bodnar make some good saves, before Vladdy Ruzhynsky finished a great goal to seal the game for Ukraina. Mike Bodnar played very well in goal, as did Walter Usyk for the first 10 minutes of the game.

Result: 3-3 Tie
Game Summary: Ukraina were a bit lacklustre today and tied a game they really should have won. Andriy Azarov got things going with a good finish in the first few minutes before Konstantin Privalov scored to make it 2-0 Ukraina. Ukraina gave a goal back before half time. In the second half, Ukraina again gave up a goal to go 2-2, before Roman Zakaluzny knocked home a goal to make it 3-2 Ukraina. But we were to be denied on the day, when the opposition scored, and Ukraina didn't have a reply. Jeff Cheliak had a great chance to win it at the end but the post was in the way. Mike Bodnar played well in goal.

Game Summary: Ukraina had a tough night today playing two very good teams back to back but still played very well despite the results. Ukraina came out a little slow, conceding 2 goals in the first half. The boys came out much better in the second half, just getting a little unlucky not being able to capitilze on a few great chances.

Dma played great back and forth soccer, winning challenges, creating chances, and playing good defense.

Result: 3-2 Loss
Game Summary: Ukraina, after having giving it all in their first game, came out a little slower then usual and again were unlucky giving up 2 goals before the half. But they did not give up there, they kept putting the work and effort in and it payed off as Andriy Azarov was able to put one past the opposition. Unfortunately shortly after a long looping shot managed to find the top corner against ukraina, to find themselves down 3-1. The team did not sit back though really playing right to the final whistle as konstantin privalov buried a great goal coming in from the wing.

Konstantin ran up and down the wing, always finding space, creating trouble for the opposition, and was rewarded with a great goal.

Game Summary: Ukraina came out today to try and stop their loosing ways, but it was not to be this night. Ukraina came out a little flat and went down 2-0. Andriy Azarov got a goal back to make it 2-1. Then Konnie Privalov stepped up and scored on a penalty kick. Ukraina played well from that point but gave up two more goals to come out on the loosing end. Walter Usyk played in goal.

Konnie controlled and distributed the ball well in the midfield. Stepped up under pressure to put in a penalty kick.

Result: 5-3 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina cam to break their loosing record but got off to a slow start again and went down 1-0 early in the game. After that goal the boys finally woke up and played to their potential. A flury of goals came and Ukraina was up 5-1. The boys sat back on their heals towards the end of the game and let in 2 goals. But this was to be their night and they held on for the win. Konstantin Privalov scored 3, Dima scored one and Danilo scored 1 goal. Walter Usyk played in goal.

Danilo played a strong defensive game cutting off many of the opposition attacks, and making some great long passes to the strikers.

Result: 2-1 Loss
Game Summary: Ukraina came out tonight to try and keep their winning ways alive and move up the standings. They started out a little slow and went dow 1-0 early in the game. Ukraina started picking things up and pressing the opposition which resulted in the tieing goal and it was 1-1. Then Walter, the keeper received a red card after a bad call on Aza in the penalty box. Ukraina were down one man for the rest of the game. Mike Podgorski stepped up as keeper and made a brilliant penalty kick save. After being down one man Ukraina picked up their game and had the better scoring chances but could not put a goal in back of the net. Mike Podgorski made some brillant saves to keep the game at 1-1. A let up in the defence allowed the opposition to score the second goal late in the game. Ukraina tried to get even but it was not to be.

Mike stepped in as keeper during the game and made a key penalty shot save as well as some great saves during the game.

Result: 3-2 Win
Game Summary: UUkraina was up for this game after a disappointing loss the previous week. The boys started out very strong and kept to their game plan. Arsen Gritsenko got Ukraina rolling with his first goal to make it 1-0. Ukraina had the upper hand throughout the game and Arsen scored his second goal before the half was over. Ukraina came out a little bit flat in the second half and allowed CFSU to score two goals to make it 2-2. But the boys dug deep and Andriy Azarov scored a great goal with a great long shot towards the end of the game to make it 3-2. Then Ukraina played solid defense to preserve the win.

Paul was solid in the back and made several forward runs and was great in the air.

Result: 4-2 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina neede to win this game to stay in the hunt for second place. They were playing the last place team and have had trouble beating them the whole season. The game started of with both sides being cautious but started to pick up. Ukraina was looking for the first goal but again had a hard time putting the ball in back of the net. On a defnesive laps the opostion scored first and Ukraina were down 1-0. Ukraina was still having trouble scoring and at the end of the first half were down 2-0. The second half started better, but no goal was in sight, even though we were playing a better second half. Finally with about 7 minutes left Taras Figol scored his first ever goal on a briliant shot to give Ukraina life. Then Arsen scorde to tie the game 2-2. Ukraina had the opposition on their heals and Paul Cheliak scored to give Ukraina a 3-2 lead. The brother Jeff Cheliak scorde at the last whistle to make the game 4-2.

Taras had a strong game up fron and scored a very crucial goal for Ukraina, which was his first ever goal as an Ottawa Ukraina player.

Ottawa Ukraina vs. CFSU Ottawa
Tuesday, May 5, 2009 @ 10:00pm
Location: Louis Riel
Result: 3-1 Win
Game Summary: This was Ottawa Ukraina's last game of the outdoor season and a chance to capture second place. The boys came out stron from the beginign of the game and were taking the play to CFSU. Ukraina got on the board first with Konie Privolov scoring the first goal. Ukraina didn't let up and Roman Kaluzny scorde to make 2-0 to end the first half. Ukraina sat back on their heels a little to start the second half and eventually gave up a goal to make it 2-1. Then the boys got their second wind and started to take over the game again with Dima Synyak scoring the insurance goal to make the game 3-1. After the third goal the game was never in doubt Ukraina finished their first indoor reserve team season on a very positive note. Walter Usyk played well in goal.

Paul had a strong game in the back clearing away any danger and had some great runs to create chances.
