Result: 2 -0 Loss
Game Summary: Ukraina played their first match in the Division 1 League, and gave it everything. It was a hot day, the boys played hard, had their chances, but in the end didn't capitalize and Hull did. It was a good learning experience for everyone to take into the next matches! Andriy Popowych played well in goal. Patty Tobin made his debut for Ukraina in this match!

Played very well at left back tackling well, and snuffing out attacks as well as getting forward.

Result: 5 - 0 Loss
Game Summary: Ukraina, although the score was very lopsided, played against one of the best teams in the City, and did themselves very proud. we had our chances, but unfortunately on the day we didn't finish them. Ukraina should be proud of the effort, and this will definately spur the lads on to do well in the upcoming games! Andriy Popowych played well in goal.

Ottawa Cup Game
Ottawa Ukraina MC 1 vs. West Ottawa
Sunday, June 11th, 2011 @ 4:00pm
Location: Lytle Park East
Result: 7 - 0 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina played this Ottawa Cup match with a lot of desire, as Ukraina really want to make a good run this season and did not dissapoint. We came out a bit flat, but our quality shone through in the end beating Ottawa 7-0. Alex Zaslavsky got things going with a Penalty earned by Nate Lafosse. Scotty Makischuk got the second in the 34th minute, before Paul Cheliak buried in the 43rd minute to make it 3-0 at halftime. Early in the second half Ukraina kept the pressure on and Scott Makischuk added another before Jon Udell hammered home a drive from 25 yards. Marc Lapointe then got on the scoresheet before Paul Cheliak drilled home his second and Ukraina's 7th to win the game. Morgan Kenny, after being out 9 months with a severe back injure stepped up and played a great game in goal earning the shutout.

Ran the game with constant running, great energy, defending and attacking in midfield.

Ottawa Ukraina MC 1 vs. Lynwood Centennials
Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 @ 8:30pm

Result: 2 - 0 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina got their first ever win in Division 1 today working super hard, and earning a 2-0 Victory. It was 0-0 at halftime, and Ukraina needed to pick up there game to get the result. Which they did, Igor Pletchenko scored in the 54th minute to give Ukraina a 1-0. Things were going well now, and Ukraina had a lot of the player, before Jeff Cheliak made a great run down the right, and fired a great cross in the box before a lynwood player slide and nicked it into his own net to make it 2-0 Ukraina. We held on from there very strong, and it was a great first victory! Andriy Popowych got the shutout.

Vince once again show his grit and determination and dominated the center midfield.

Ottawa Ukraina MC 1 vs. West Ottawa

Result: 3 - 2 Loss
Game Summary: Ukraina played very short handed today due to many injuries, and although gave a great effort in the second half, came up short on this occasion. Ukraina now face a very daunting task if they are to advance in the Ottawa Cup. Nate Lafosse scored a great free kick, and Bryce Motiuk gave a man of the match display, scoring the second goal. Andriy Popowych played well in goal.

Ottawa Ukraina MC 1 vs. Ottawa Internationals
Tuesday, June 21st, 2011 @ 8:30pm
Location: Hillcrest HS Turf
Result: 4 - 1 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina started this game defending very strong and on a quick counter, Nate Lafosse got things going when he picked up a through ball and stepped around the keeper before scoring his first league goal of the season. The remainder of the half saw some chances at both ends but Ukraina stood strong and it was 1-0 at half. The second half started with a scare. After the ball took some unpredictable bounces, the Internationals were able to tie the game. The boys, however, did not falter. Ukraina’s second goal, started by a run up the field from Andriy Panchuk who eventually got the ball in the box and Scott Makischuk capitalized, scoring his first of the game. Next, it was Pat Tobin’s turn to make a great run and finished off a great pass from Danilo Popowych, scoring his first career goal for the club. The fourth goal was engineered by Vince Didkovsky when he sent a great ball over the top of the last defender to Scott Makischuk who chipped his second goal of the game over the keeper. Ukraina’s success this game came from the counter attack off the their strong defense. Andriy Popowych played a solid game in net making the saves when needed.

Mike played a great game at the back keeping the back line strong and difficult to break down.

Ottawa Ukraina MC 1 vs. Ottawa Royals
Sunday, June 26th, 2011 @ 9:00am
Location: University of Ottawa
Result: 1 - 0 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina were playing against the first place team in the division, and as usual, Ukraina raise their game against top opponents, and came out victorious! An Ukraina Team who were struggling a bit with injury, having a very short bench, worked beyond ask and played a great game. Scotty Makischuk capitalized on an error with great anticipation and finished home the chance in the 27th minute. And for the rest of the match, Ukraina and Royals traded chances but neither team could find the net. Ukraina withheld a good 15 minutes of sustained pressure in the second half, although kept the other team at half chances at best. Andriy Popowych played in goal and earned the shutout.

Both players played out of their skin, and were absolutely brilliant.

Result: 4 - 2 Loss
Game Summary: In their last round robin game, Ukraina needed a big win to advance into the knock out stage. Things started very well for Ukraina as Scott Makiscuk scored 2 goals. Going into the second half with a 2-0 lead, Ukraina knew they’d still need more for a hope in advancing. Pushing for those goals, the defensive duties got neglected, and even the win was lost. On this day Ukraina deserved more from the result .

Result: 2 - 0 Loss
Game Summary: Ukraina were up against a very good team, and lost the battle. We had our chances, but unfortunately didn't take them and 2 quick goals in the first half saw Bosnia take home the 3 points. Andrew Popowych played well in goal.

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011 @ 8:30pm

Result: 3 - 1 Loss
Game Summary: Ukraina played very well in the first half of the game today, and went up 1-0 on a great header from Andrew Panchuk. But the game would not settle for Ukraina, and they were under pressure for the majority of the second half, and gave up a few goals to go down 2-1. Rockers then got a penalty shot which ended the game 3-1. Morgan Kenny played well in goal.

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011 @ 6:30pm

Result: 3 - 2 Loss
Game Summary: Again Ukraina came out strong and went up 1-0 in the 24th minute on a great pass by Nate Lafosse, and a great finish by Scott Makischuk. Ukraina were playing hard, and even had a few more chances to put away. Haltime came and went, and what seems to be happening to Ukraina lately, happened again with giving up an early goal in the second half. Then 10 minutes later another to go down 2-1. Ukraina now had to push a bit, and because of that were short numbers at the back and went down 3-1. Alex Zaslavsky clawed one back off a great header with 5 minutes to go, but Ukraina couldn't find the equalizer. Morgan Kenny played in goal.

Arsen played super well, holding the ball up, making some nice passes, and working hard.

Sunday, July 24th, 2011 @ 9:00am

Result: 2 - 0 Loss
Game Summary: Ottawa Ukraina were missing many key players for this match but put up a valiant effort. Both team had chances early in the game but it was the Royals who scored first midway through the 1st half. The second half saw Ukraina limited to very few chances but the defense kept the game close. With Ukraina pressing for the equalizer, the Royals mounted a counter attack and scored a second goal to seal their victory.

Game Summary: Ukraina really blew a big chance this week to earn some much needed points. The boys are in a low right now, and have to battle extra hard for everything. Scott Makischuk scored very early on, but Ukraina once again threw away all the points leaking goals late in a game. Morgan Kenny played in goal.

Game Summary: Ukraina seem to be in groundhog day, going up very early in the match again on a goal by Scott Makischuk, but gave away 2 goals again, one in the 86th minute to come away with no points again. The boys played very well today, and didn't deserve this result. Andriy Popowych played well in goal.

Game Summary: Ukraina lost another match today, against the top team in the league, and arguably the city. Ukraina were in tough in the first half, but the last 45 minutes of the match, we were very good, playing some great soccer and really competiting at a high level. Scott Makischuk scored a good goal and Morgan Kenny played well in goal.

Result: 3 - 0 Win
Game Summary: Ukraina came out great this match in a must win, and blew the opponent away. Igor Pletchenko scored a towering header off a corner, and Alex Zaslavsky did the same in opposite halves to go up 2-0 and seal the win. Scott Makischuk scored in the 90th minute to ensure victory. Morgan Kenny earned the shutout.

Result: 4 - 2 Loss
Game Summary: Ukraina had all the chances today to win the game, but missed more then enough chances to put the game out of reach. They went up 1-0 on a goal by Igor Pletchenko. But after 60 minutes were down 2-1. Mike Herasimenko scored in the 72 minute to tie the game up, but Ukraina could not hold on and gave up 2 late goals, missing 5 chances themselves. Morgan Kenny played in goal.

Game Summary: Ukraina really held there own in the first half, and are littered with injury and missing players but did themselves very well in the first half where it was 1-0 at halftime. Ukraina gave way in the second when the tired legs came back to haunt them. Andrew Popowych played well in goal.

Game Summary: Ukraina played in an insane game today! Going down 5-2 at halftime, and coming out in the second half ready to battle, tying the game at 5-5 with 10 minutes to go, before surrending a killer goal in the last few minutes. Marc Lapointe had a goal, while Chris Arnone and Igor pletchenko each had 2. Andrew Popowych played in goal.

Result: 1 - 0 Win
Game Summary:Ukraina, in the biggest match in their history needed a win. And they responded with no less then 11 players out injured or away. It was a tight game, and the deadlock was broken in the 62nd minute when Roman Zakaluzny blasted home a shot from 25 yards to win the game for Ukraina. Andriy Popowych was great in goal.

Game Summary: Ukraina need just a point to clinch safety in Division 1, and did so in great style. Igor Pletchenko scored the goal on a penalty, and Andriy Popowych made some huge saves in his last match for Ukraina as he departs for Australia.

Result: 2 - 2 Tie
Game Summary: Ukraina finished the season very well with 2 wins and a tie today, earning a very respectable point total this season! Ukraina went down 1-0, before Marc Lapointe slotted home the tying goal in the 32nd minute. Ukraina went down again in the 62nd minute, and pushed had for the tying goal. it came with the very last kick of the game in the 93rd minute, when Marc Lapointe took a quick free kick and curled it into the corner to tie the game. Danilo Popowych played in goal, and did very well.
