League Game
Ottawa Ukraina Men's 4 vs. Bhikku Eboue
Sunday, January 22, 2012 @ 11:00pm
Location: Dome 2
Result:5 - 5 Tie
Game Summary: Ukraina seemed to get off to a great start today with a few chances early and Scott Makischuk scoring on a nice finish just inside the post. Soon after though the confidence got too high, as they were getting the better chances but just not finishing, and the mental game began to struggle and it hurt on the defensive end as the opponents scored one, two, three, then a forth goal before half. The boys needed this half-time to gather their heads, and it paid off. The effort was great all game, but in the second half the ball movement was a little more crisp, ball movement better and the team was playing with confidence knowing they could get back in. Bryce Motiuk got the scoring started slotting home the ball at the far post, and then Andriy Panchuk scored on a deflected shot from the outside and then on a toe poke from in close. In the dying minutes and down1 goal, Bryce scored again, this time off his head on a great finish from a corner kick. Jason Olinski played in goal.

Location: Dome 2
Result:6 - 3 Loss
Game Summary:This game was a tough one from the start as with a couple of no shows, the team played 1 man down the entire game. This was disappointing as it was against a team they were even with in the standings. In a game they had no business being in, Ukraina left everything on the field, playing a smart, hard fought game and coming away with a respectable score in this loss. The guys scored the first goal of the game and kept it within a 2 goal spread for much of the game. Greame Ivory played a great game in goal.

Man of the Match

Graeme Ivory
A game time decision to have Greame go in net, and he played well, keeping the goals to a minimal and stepping up for the team.

Monday, March 12, 2012 @ 6:00pm
Location: Dome 2
Result: 5 - 7 Loss
Game Summary: The guys were confident and eager to win today. The game started off fantastic for Ukraina as they kept some great possession and got the early lead. The momentum began to change and it seemed that this was not the team's day. An own goal quickly let the Wanderers into the game, and and some giveaways, it was clear Ukraina was going to have to battle hard and come from behind. The pace of the game picked up in the second half. Ukraina fought hard to try to get back into this game. However every time Ukraina scored the Wanderers struck right back as they would score goals from long range and got bounces in their favor. With Ukraina also missing a penalty shot, this was just not meant to be in a game where they were not outplayed. Scott Makischuk had all 5 goals. This was the conclusion to a great season that saw records broken and a lot of great match ups. Walter Usyk played in goal.

Man of the Match

Scotty Makischuk
Scott scored all the goals, a threat all game.
